Rumours today that Manchester United owner Malcolm Glazer has died have been unfounded according to reports.
The rumours started to circulate on the Social Network Twitter, claiming that the self-made multimillionaire had died at the early hours of the morning in Tampa, Florida.
Glazer, who became owner of Manchester United back in 2005, has been largely unpopular with the Manchester United faithful. The American’s popularity dropped to such low levels, that groups of begrudged fans formed F.C. United. The none league team was established as a protest team, which has had three successive promotions in as many years and holds a record attendance of 6,023 fans.
The 83-year-old has had what has become a largely infamous reign, Manchester United fans have been skeptical over the American’s intentions. Lumping a debt that amassed to $850 million dollars, many Manchester United fans have suspected that Glazer is out to make money and not win trophies. Since that time, there have been numerous of anti- Glazer chants that have filled the old Trafford and Gigg Lane alike.

The rumors were apparently started by @Danny_McMullen, a Manchester United fan who later admitted that the story was untrue. McMullen’s Twitter account has since been the source of abuse from fans who had read the story.
Since the rumours were leaked, Manchester United have released a statement squashing the rumours that there
Glazer’s reign then is set to continue. Hopefully even the most anti-glazer fans will welcome this as good news.
